Vegetarians Live Longer

A nationwide study done by Loma Linda University recently revealed that, of course, vegetarians live 8-9 years longer than omnivores. The study was conducted on about 100,000 Seventh Day Adventists over the course of one year. Seventh Day Adventists follow a lacto-ovo vegetarian diet.

Interestingly, the study also found that vegetarians who eat plenty of tomatoes and tomato products reap many benefits, such as a reduced risk of prostate cancer. The study also confirmed, again, the huge benefits that can be gained by drinking lots of water.

The study found that eating nuts 5 times a week significantly reduces the risk of fatal coronary heart disease and fatal heart attacks. Similar findings exist on eating whole wheat vs. white bread.
